What is Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a non-invasive, light-touch therapeutic method that focuses on the craniosacral system—the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a touch no heavier than the weight of a nickel, I monitor the rhythm of this system to detect and release restrictions. By relieving tension in the central nervous system, CST allows the rest of the body to relax and self-correct.
Who Can Benefit from Craniosacral Care?
Because it is so gentle, Craniosacral Therapy is an excellent choice for individuals who may find traditional deep-tissue massage too intense. It is particularly effective for those managing:
Chronic Pain & Migraines
Reducing the frequency and intensity of headaches and neck pain.
Stress & Anxiety
Soothing the nervous system to promote deep mental and physical rest.
TMJ Dysfunction
Relieving jaw tension and associated facial pain.
Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue
Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue
Post-Traumatic Stress
Encouraging the body to release "stored" physical tension from past trauma.
Post-Concussion Syndrome
Gradual recovery plan with rest, therapy, and symptom management
What to Expect During Your Session
A typical Craniosacral session at Healing Kneads Massage is deeply quiet and meditative. You remain fully clothed on a heated massage table as I use extremely light touch at the base of the skull, the spine, and the sacrum. Many clients experience a sense of "zoning out" or falling into a dream-like state, waking up feeling refreshed, balanced, and lighter.
